Tinago Falls: The Hidden Beauty of Iligan

When I was young, I only hear those wonderful stories about Tinago Falls. My aunt is a professional runner and she joins triathlons a lot. In one of her stories, she said that they have to swim across Tinago Falls. Back then, there is a zoo at the entrance of the forest before you get to witness the magnificence of Tinago Falls.

Having studied in Iligan City, it's ironic for students like me to not experience a lot of these waterfalls in a city that calls itself the "City of Waterfalls" in the Philippines. Yes, it's true. Even residents here in Iligan City barely witness the beauty of these falls. And it's because of different reasons. But one of which is the inaccessibility of the areas and the fact that you have to spare real effort, time and money to get to these falls.

Yet to all the tourists out there, the waterfalls here in Iligan City is just one of the best. All the sweat and effort get paid off by the beauty of the natural wonder that you can't experience in other places. This is uniquely the Iligan experience.

In this feature, Tinago Falls is just one of the best waterfalls to name. Iligan is home to 23 major waterfalls and  Tinago is one of the best here. You have to take about 400 steps down to get to the basin of the falls. And once you reach the bottom, you'll just get enthralled by the wonderful creation. You wouldn't even think it's possible to find in the heart of the forest.

I can't describe it further. Tinago is such one experience. And if you're into waterfalling or diving into the best tourist spots in the Philippines, this is one place to break free.

Tinago Falls is also featured in my all about Iligan blog post "Threading Pieces of Admiration: The Fortress City of Mindanao", which talks about the culture, tourist spots, people, industries and everything about Iligan City.

I speak for what I believe in, because that's my conviction. Never hold back for justice, if you know you're in the right direction.

Procrastination (Is it a First Choice, Or A Last Resort?)
As what I've said, all of us can just get unlimited sleep after life, plus the bonus of not having the consciousness to know you're already getting it. My life is a semi-closed book. I don't wanna get people into my private life, as much as I respect other people's privacy as well. But this blog, I'm not thinking anymore of what other people are gonna say. This is my page and my thoughts and opinions are born out of my own beliefs and convictions. Procrastination is definitely difficult to get away. Humans have natural tendencies towards it.

Big Things (The Way You Handle It!)
At the peak of it all, there are things that you know are coming, but you really haven't geared yourself for the storm. Yes, there's a storm and it's sad how things went on these past days. I just got a good news. But I know after good news come, bad news show up. So I don't wanna get much into the successes, 'cause the downside kinda got me "dragged" 6 feet underground.

Well I guess, I should be able to prioritize. It never sunk in my rationality just yet what our Dean has told me just a few hours ago. She told me that one has to give in, of all the many things that I juggle in one rolling. I'm not complaining about what I do. But I only wish I could do more to be better off for all these things.

.350 Commitment.
Recently, I got my confirmation to pledge for the 350.org movement. And I really like the advocacy. Hopefully, I'll be able to pursue my plan of integrating journalism in environmental efforts. With an effective communication arm, it's easier to get mileage in the advocacy that we've been fighting for.
